The **Add New Domain** side panel will open. | ![](https://help.sendmarc.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Jul-08-2026-12-46-33-2577-PM.png?width=1246&height=1220&name=image-png-Jul-08-2026-12-46-33-2577-PM.png) | | --- | Enter & select the following criteria: - **Domain Name** - Enter a main domain (example.com) or subdomain (mail.example.com) - **Domain Type** - Choose between an active domain with reporting or a parked domain. A parked domain is a non-email-sending and will not capture DMARC reporting data. Additionally by setting a domain to "parked", it will change the DMARC and SPF settings to reject all senders that are not specified. 4. **Save** to add your domain and allow Sendmarc's [Smart Import Technology](https://help.sendmarc.com/smart-import-technology?hsLang=en) to import your domain's existing DMARC and SPF records from the DNS. Click **Save & Exit** to return to domain list or **Save & Configure** to navigation to Domain Settings page of the domain you've added. It is important to always compare the imported settings with your existing DNS records before [enabling delegation](https://help.sendmarc.com/dns-record-delegation?hsLang=en). Confirm your settings by [Editing your Domain](https://help.sendmarc.com/add-edit-delete-domains#edit-domain).   ### Edit a Domain 1. Setup and verify each of the records to ensure your settings take affect: 1. [DMARC Configuration Settings & Setup](https://help.sendmarc.com/dmarc-config-settings-setup?hsLang=en) 2. [SPF Configuration Settings & Setup](https://help.sendmarc.com/validating-spf-records?hsLang=en) 3. [DKIM Configuration Settings & Setup](https://help.sendmarc.com/validating-dkim-records?hsLang=en) 4. BIMI settings 5. TLS settings If it is your first time editing your domain, it is important to validate the imported settings against your existing DNS records to ensure that no records were missed as Sendmarc will only import valid records. You'll need to manually add the settings that failed to import. Be sure to do so before enabling [DNS delegation](https://help.sendmarc.com/dns-record-delegation?hsLang=en). The settings you'll be allowed to modify will depend on your account plan. You will not be able to change the domain name once added, you'll need to delete the existing domain and add a new one.   ### Delete a Domain 1. Confirm the deletion by typing the domain name.
