Understanding and Creating Administrator Alerts

This guide aims to give your team members an overview of configuring Alerts in the Sendmarc Customer Portal to be notified of changes within the platform.

You can manage all your alerts in one place. The "Alerts" menu item can be found under "Account Administration > Alerts".

URL: https://portal.sendmarc.com/alerts

The alert management screen will show you all the alerts pertaining to a specific Account or Partner with a breakdown of area and activity being monitored, frequency and number of recipients to receive notifications. Click on the specific Alert to change its settings.

You can choose to filter by "Partner" or "Account" or area monitored.

Areas of monitoring include:

  • System - Activity irrespective of Partner or Account

  • Partner - Activity of specific Partner

  • Account - Activity of specific Account

Access to Partner or Account alerts and filters will depend on your user permissions.

You can add an alert by clicking "New Alert".

Creating New Alert

When saving a new alert, it will automatically be set to activate, it can be disabled on "Edit".

1. Select the "Activity" that needs to be monitored:

There are various activities to choose from, please see below the list of configurable alerts and a brief explanation of each:

    • Domain Added
(Notify me when a new domain is added)

  • Account

    • Account Created
(Notify me when an account is created)

    • Status Changed
(Notify me when the account status is changed)

Depending on the activity you choose, additional setup criteria may be required. For example, setting up an alert for "Verification Status Changed", you'll be required to specify which specific verification activity you want to monitor:

2. Select the Account you would like to monitor

Depending on your user permissions, you'll be able to select the specific partner or system. If you have already filtered by an account on the alert management screen, this option will be pre-selected.

3. Select the "Frequency" of the notification

For activities that allow scheduled notifications you'll be able to specify how often you would like to receive notifications.

Currently only two monitored activities allow frequency:

  • Domain > DMARC Compliance Certificate on Reject

  • Domain > Exposure Report

If you have selected an event-based activity, the "Frequency" option may not be available, a good example of this is when "Domain Added" activity is selected, this is a user based event and the notification thereof cannot be scheduled.

4. Set the "Recipients" to receive the notification

Add the recipients you would like to notify for specific notification:

You can manage each recipients subscription by editing the recipient:

5. Email Settings (Optional)

We allow customization of certain email notification that are sent, these settings are optional.
