How to Create Users and Log into Customer Accounts

Creating users in the Account Creation and User interfaces

Users are central to the administration of all accounts within Sendmarc. They are required in order to take any action (such as the creation of domains, administration of SPF, DKIM and DMARC, etc.). As such, it is required to create a user for every account.

In order to create users, you will need to have the Partner Administrator role and permissions or have the Administrator role and permissions for the account.


There are two ways to add users to an account:

  1. Via the Account Creation process (when creating the account for the first time):
    1. Once an account is created, you will see the account appear in your list of accounts.
    2. To log into this account, click the 'View Users' icon on the right of the account name.
    3. This will take you to the User Management interface. Follow the steps in the User Management Section detailed below.
  2. Via the Account Administration interface (when adding users after account creation):
    1. Once logged into the account, click the 'Account Administration' drop down.
    2. Select 'Users'.
    3. This will take you to the User Management interface. Follow the steps in the User Management Section detailed below.

How to Create Users

  1. Navigate to https://portal.sendmarc.com/
  2. Click "Account Administration"
  3. Click "Accounts"
  4. Click the picture of a person
  5. Click "add"
  6. Type a username for your new user

  7. Click this email field.
  8. Type a unique email address for this user.
    This user does not have to exist if you are administering the account on behalf of your customer.
  9. [OPTIONAL] You can send a welcome email if the user you have created is a real user who needs access to the portal.
    They will have 1 Hour to accept the invite to activate their account.
  10. Click this password field and generate a strong random password for this user.
    This is also required if you are creating an admin account for a non-existent user, in this case, you will never need to use this password.
  11. Click "SAVE"
  12. You can now log in as this user by clicking on the square with an arrow going into it.

When logging in as a user, keep in mind that all actions taken will be logged against your user and not the user you have logged in as.
